12k defense isn't that broken. 17k isn't that hard to make. 13k is, because it demands an 8k behind a 10k, or risk instability with a 11k with 7k behind.
But since MLB is the only 12k, and that is just plain broken for it's critical together with the 12k...
I think gancelot is better, he has 14k on your turn EASILY and also gains a crit, its better than those lame 12k and 13k vanguards, and you dont even have a BOOST, if you counter blast twice thats already 19k and last i checked thats more than 12 or 13

I don't even see why their RRR their not even that good.
Phantom blaster overlord's persona blast is garbage, you need to discard a card? i can gain +2 crit +10 k with gancelot for one extra counterblast and not USE any cards, Agravain is the same free +5k +1 crit
Who needs to trigger check more? Stability is what's needed. +1 crit for free similar to majesty lord but i gain +5k instead of +2k and overlord the end? if you dont get any triggers its garbage.
